RAIPON called the delegates of the Association of Shors people to focus attention on the message from their countrymen

Inhabitants of Shoriya (Kazas) applied to the congress of indigenous ethnic minorities of Russia through a video published on the portal YouTube on the 21st of March. In it a representative of the human rights organization “Revival of the village of Kazas and Shors people” Yana Tannagasheva called the delegates of the Association of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation to pay attention to the problems of a small village in Kemerovo Oblast, to render help “in issues on allocation of territories of traditional nature management in conformity with the federal legislation for them”.

Two days later, on the 23rd of March in Salekhard within the plenary session of the Forum of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and Far East of Russia the president of the Association Grigory Ledkov called the delegates from “The Association of Shors people” (12 representatives) to pay attention to the message of their countrymen and asked to make a report on the problem within one of sessions of the forum.
On this day the theme was discussed on the specialized platforms. It was decided to reflect the message of the Shors village Kazas in the final resolution of the eighth congress of the Association, it was recommended “to study the problem”, including, to conduct consultations with representatives of corresponding bodies of the power. As Grigory Ledkov declared later, in spite of the fact that the official request of “residents Shoriya (Kazas)” was not sent to the Association, the coordinating board intended to study the issue and in maximum to contribute to peaceful solving of disagreements, taking to consideration interests of Shors people in Kemerovo Oblast.
