Sergey Kharyuchi: The results of the election were predictable and logical

The chairman of the council of elders Sergey Kharyuchi positively evaluated the results of the election of the president of the Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East. As he declares, the result was absolutely predictable and logical, as the results of activity of administrative bodies of the public movement are obvious.

“Four years ago I suggested the candidature of Grigory Ledkov, with some difficulty but he was supported. A man was as if from nowhere, though he came from the environment, which is called “traditional lifestyle”. He was the director of one of reindeer-herding enterprises, during 5 years was the head of the northernmost settlement Gyda, during several years worked in the administration of Tazovskiy district, but still remained unknown. Today we see the results of four years of his work on the post of the president of the association. The delegates evaluated them highly and almost unanimously supported his candidature”, as Sergey Kharyuchi said.
As we should remind, by the results of the elections, 368 people voted for his candidature, three abstained, and three voted for Oleg Shatin. Gregory Ledkov was given the belt — the symbol of power. He thanked the delegates for their trust: “I solemnly swear to serve for wellbeing of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East and our homeland”.
