A film about contribution of indigenous peoples of the North to the Great Victory, about those trials, which they passed through together with the country, is being made in Yamal.
The action of the film takes place during the war years and based on real events. The film speaks about hardships of the war and also of social orphanhood in the years of repressions.
As the author and the director of the film Zinaida Longortova says to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press”, there are many films about the war, about children of the war, but this theme is never-ending. The events, about which the film tells, will help the audience to learn, how indigenous inhabitants of the North selflessly and honorably worked not only in the home front, but fought against the enemy on battlefronts of the Great Patriotic War. Besides, the film will make contribution to the bank of ethnographic knowledge about the Far North. The film is being made in Priuralskiy district, in 30 kilometers from the settlement Aksarka. The actors speak in Khanty and Russian languages. This film is a tribute to all the unknown heroes of this terrible war not returning to their families.
Zinaida Longortova is the author of the film in Khanty language “Wedding Argish”, (“argish” means “deer caravan”) known in Yamal, the laureate of the 4th open Eurasian literature festival in the category “Literature artwork”. She considers that the project will help to bring truth to next generations – about the Great Patriotic War, about workers of the home front, usual people, who worked for the sake of the Victory.
