The sitting of the State Commission on Arctic Development will take place in Archangelsk

The sitting of the State Commission on Arctic Development under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister for the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin will take place in Archangelsk on the 29th of March.

The participants plan to discuss development of the state program “Socioeconomic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation till 2020”, enlargement of nuclear-powered icebreaking fleet, development of personnel potential in the Arctic and also experience and suggestions of regions.
Heads of federal authorities, heads of arctic regions of the Russian Federation, representatives of business and scientific organizations will participate in the sitting, as it is informed on the official website of the state commission. In particular, reports of the following representatives are planned: the minister for education and science of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilyeva, the deputy minister for economic development of the Russian Federation Alexander Tsybulskiy, the deputy minister for transport – the head of the Federal agency of marine and river transport Viktor Olerskiy, the deputy minister for industry and trade of the Russian Federation Vasiliy Osmakov and other participants.
As we should note, the visiting session of the arctic state commission will take place on the platform of the 4th international arctic forum “The Arctic – Territory of dialogue”, which will take place in Archangelsk on the 29th and the 30th of March. Since 2010 the forum has been the platform for discussion of vitally important issues connected with development of the Arctic and search for ways to solve problems in this region. These issues are discussed on the highest political and expert level.
