In 2018 Gazprom plans to start deliveries of liquefied natural gas to India in the amount 2 million and 500 thousand tonnes. This information was given by the deputy minister for energy of the Russian Federation Yuriy Sentyurin to RIA “Novosti”.
According to his words, deliveries can go not only from the project on production of liquefied natural gas on Sakhalin but also from the new plant “Yamal LNG”, the first stage of which NOVATEK is planning to start up this year, and also other consignments of gas.
The document with India was signed; in 2018 deliveries should be started. This is the portfolio of Gazprom, the supplier — Gazprom Marketing and Trading Singapore, on the other hand, the Indian company GAIL. The contracted amount makes about 2 million and 500 thousand tonnes per year, as he says.
According to his words, Gazprom is a global player, it is busy with marketing, delivering, everything is interconnected; therefore, physically it will not mean that it is exactly the gas produced and liquefied on Sakhalin, as the deputy minister notes.
As we should remind, the project “Yamal LNG” supposes development of the South-Tambey gas field and construction of the plant with the capacity in 16 million and 500 thousand tonnes of liquefied gas and 1 million tonnes of gas condensate per year. It costs 27 milliard dollars. Three lines will be built for liquefying of gas, each in 5 million and 500 thousand tonnes of liquefied natural gas per year with commissioning of the first stage in 2017. The shareholders of “Yamal LNG” are: NOVATEK — 50.1%, French Total and Chinese CNPC – 20% each, the Chinese Silk Road Fund — 9.9%.
