The President of Russia Vladimir Putin will participate in St. Petersburg international economic forum, which will take place in St. Petersburg from the 31st of May to the 3rd of June.
Thus, on the 3rd of June the head of the state will participate in the naming ceremony for the Arctic tanker “Christophe de Margerie” — the ship of the unique ice-class Arc7 designed for the project “Yamal LNG”, as the press-service of the Kremlin informs.
The tanker was named after the head of the French energy group “Total” Christophe de Margerie, who had died tragically in a plane crash at the airport “Vnukovo”.
The ship was designed for transportation of liquefied natural gas within the project “Yamal LNG” on development of the South-Tambey gas condensate field. The tanker was built in the shipyard in South Korea and was launched to water in October of last year. “Christophe de Margerie” successfully completed ice tests in the Kara Sea and the Laptev Sea. The ceremonial event dedicated to the first arrival of the Arctic tanker into the port of Sabetta took place on the 30th of March.
As we should remind, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug will present the project “Energy of the Arctic” on the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The project foresees construction of the Northern Latitudinal Railway, which will connect Yamal with the Urals and the north-west of Russia and will provide communication of Russia’s transport system through the port of Sabetta with the Northern Sea Route. Also it is planned to sign some framework agreements on joint projects with the company “NOVATEK” and on cooperation in several spheres with Chelyabinsk Oblast. In plans there are working meetings with leaders of agencies on investments into social projects of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and on support of the business community.
