Dmitry Kobylkin: The law “On the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation” is necessary for northern territories as soon as possible

On the first day on the St. Petersburg international economic forum the governor of Yamal Dmitry Kobylkin conducted negotiations, signed a row of agreements and met with colleagues from the northern territories.
Working meetings took place with the governors of Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov, Tyumen region Vladimir Yakushev, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra Natalia Komarova, Murmansk region Marina Kovtun, the first persons of other regions, heads of federal agencies and departments, delegations of foreign states. The participants of the meetings discussed tempos of fulfillment of joint projects, similar problems, points of economic growth and solutions to social problems.
Dmitry Kobylkin again confirmed his expectations from the discussion of the draft law “On the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation”: “Life and external economic fluctuations will make adjustments all the time, but the basic rules of nature management, investment policy, development of business and social sphere for the Arctic regions are necessary. Request for human resources for the Arctic, support of arctic medicine, social support of the northerners should be enshrined in the federal document. The law that considers specifics is very important”.
Speaking about an economic effect of the available brands of the territories, the governor called the infrastructural project “Energy of Arctic” and the industrial project “Yamal LNG” as the locomotives of economy. “Oil and gas are our traditional brands known worldwide. Soon liquefied gas from Yamal will appear on the world market. We are also proud of our agriculture, and we value our experience of deliveries of venison to Europe. Demand for products increases every year”, as the head of the region said.
The program of the second day also includes working meetings, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs. It is planned to sign an agreement with a large company of fuel and energy complex, to discuss possible prospects of cooperation with the Federal Agency, to conduct the discussion on the session about educational process, to participate in the plenary session and other official events. The meeting with the President of the company “Russian Railways” Oleg Belozyorov is a key one.
