The government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug signed the additional agreement with NOVATEK

On the 2nd of June on the Saint Petersburg international economic forum the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the company “NOVATEK” signed the additional agreement on cooperation.

The document was signed by the governor of Yamal Dmitry Kobylkin and the chairman of the board of “NOVATEK” Leonid Mikhelson. The sides will take additional measures on development of social sphere and strengthening of stability of the arctic region. Purovskiy, Nadymskiy and Yamalskiy districts and also the town Noviy Urengoy are in the center of attention in the document.
Besides, support in the form of financing of activity of the Association of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North “Yamal is for descendants”, the federations of figure-skating and ice hockey of Yamal, organizing of medical and diagnostic help to seriously ill children, disable children, fulfillment of medical treatment and rehabilitation for them, fulfillment of scientific and ecological activities are foreseen in the document.
Within the signed document in 2017 the company will fulfill additional financing of social needs of population of the territory on the sum about 180 million rubles. The finances will be allocated to the charitable fund for support of children “Yamine”, for fulfillment of activities on study of the Gydan peninsula, monitoring researches on territories of the Yamal and the Gydan peninsulas, Priuralskiy district, Beliy Island, including ichthyologic researches, for support of enterprises of agro-industrial complex, creation of the specialized “Yamal LNG-class”, targeted education of personnel from indigenous ethnic minorities of the North for enterprises of fuel and energy complex and needs of Yamalskiy district.
Support of gifted and talented youth from indigenous ethnic minorities of the North is also foreseen in the agreement, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs.
Yamal and NOVATEK are long-term and reliable partners, as the governor of Yamal says. As he underlines, Yamal is home for the company, which confirms it with each its step in the Yamal Arctic. Production projects, which are fulfilled by NOVATEK today in the region, have no analogues in the world and are known before their startup. Also it is important that the company considers needs of families, tundra dwellers, children of the Arctic as its big priority and value. Cooperation between the region and the company is supplemented with new clauses of joint social care every year. Dmitry Kobylkin thanked the company for such valuable investments to future of people of Yamal.
The company works during 23 years, as Leonid Mikhelson says. The collective constantly grows in Purovskiy district, on the Yamal peninsula and now on the Gydan peninsula. Employees of the company consider their duty to participate in life of the region. The company not only allocates finances but also participates in concrete social programs. The company helps the region and together with it participates in its development in interests of inhabitants of the land of Yamal, as Leonid Mikhelson notes.
The additional agreement considers requirements in the sphere of health care, ecology, arctic agro-industrial complex, education and support of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North, development of gifted children and charity. From its side the region continues work on strengthening of favorable investment climate. It will do the best for the soonest startup of work on the infrastructural project “Energy of the Arctic” with an approach to the port of Sabetta and further to new economic horizons in interests of Yamal and the whole Russia, as Dmitry Kobylkin underlines.
