The first offloading of liquefied natural gas on the plant “Yamal LNG” is planned for December of 2017. This information was given by Dmitry Kobylkin in an interview to TASS on the St. Petersburg international economic forum. In December “Yamal LNG” is coming to the first startup stage. The first loading of tankers is planned for December of 2017, as he notes.
On 28th of March the world’s first tanker — gas carrier of ice class Arc7 “Christophe de Margerie” arrived to the seaport of Sabetta. It was fueled with the test amount of liquefied natural gas. “Christophe de Margerie” is the first of 15 tankers – gas carriers for the project “Yamal LNG”.
“Yamal LNG” fulfills the project on building of the plant on liquefying of natural gas with the capacity 16 million and 500 thousand tonnes per year on resource base of the South-Tambey field. The beginning of production of liquefied natural gas is planned for 2017. The cost of the project is estimated in 27 milliard dollars. 96% of the future amounts of LNG have been contracted. The shareholders of the project are: NOVATEK (50.1%), Total, CNPC (20% each) and the Silk Road Fund (9.9%).
