After startup of “Yamal LNG” Total plans to continue cooperation with NOVATEK

The French oil and gas company Total intends to continue cooperation with the Russian company NOVATEK in further projects.
This information was given by Patrick Pouyanne in an interview to TASS on the St. Petersburg international economic forum.
According to his words, the company intends to continue cooperation. It has 20% in NOVATEK, and this is very strong partnership. But now, as he says, he focuses on the startup of the first project “Yamal LNG”. And later the sides will discuss other investments.
“Yamal LNG” fulfills the project on building of the plant on liquefying of natural gas with the capacity 16 million and 500 thousand tonnes per year on resource base of the South-Tambey field. The beginning of production of liquefied natural gas is planned for 2017. The cost of the project is estimated in 27 milliard dollars. 96% of the future amounts of LNG have been contracted. The shareholders of the project are: NOVATEK (50.1%), Total, CNPC (20% each) and the Silk Road Fund (9.9%).
