Gas workers of Yamburg were awarded for landscape rehabilitation in the Far North

The company “Gazprom dobycha Yamburg” won in the international contest of projects “Peace and harmony” of the Vernadsky non-governmental ecological foundation.

The jury recognized the work of “Innovative integrated technology of landscapes rehabilitation in the Far North of Siberia” as the best in the nomination “Preservation of biodiversity and landscapes rehabilitation”.
The scientific and research project presents the innovative technology of rehabilitation of the landscapes in the Far North of Siberia, including on territories of natural gas extraction. Technological solutions were worked out and checked on the pilot test site of license areas of “Gazprom dobycha Yamburg” on the Taz Peninsula of Yamal, on Beliy island in the Kara Sea.
The scientists conducted analyses to study individual characteristics of local peats, as the service on public relations and communication with mass media of the company “Gazprom dobycha Yamburg” informs. As a result they developed the integrated technology that consistently solves tasks of reclamation of tundra soils with use of peat. In parallel, the researchers developed diagnostics of chronic and accidental pollution of soils with heavy metals. This integrated technology was protected with four patents of the Russian Federation received this year.
