In Sabetta Dmitry Kobylkin spoke on the report on creation of the Yamal-Nenets supporting area

By the results of last year, 72 percent of investments in the Russian Arctic were allocated to projects in Yamal. Their total sum exceeded one trillion rubles. The governor of Yamal Dmitry Kobylkin told about it in Sabetta on the sitting of the State Commission on Arctic Development. Under the leadership of Dmitry Rogozin its participants discussed contribution of Yamal to Russian economy, prospects of Sabetta and “Energy of the Arctic”.
Dmitry Kobylkin reported on the work on creation of the Yamal-Nenets supporting area: “We look to the future, and in Yamal we plan to create the center for production of liquefied natural gas, products of which will take fifteen percent of the world market. Promising resources of the Gydan Peninsula in the arctic region are comparable to reserves on the Yamal Peninsula”.
In details the head of the region described the economic effect from creation of the Yamal transport project “Energy of the Arctic”, focusing on national security directly connected with developed infrastructure and reliable communication in the most remote areas. All aspects were considered in creation of the Yamal-Nenets supporting area, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs.
Today the Yamal-Nenets supporting area is based on several key positions: the transport project “Energy of the Arctic” on construction of the Northern Latitudinal Railway, the railroad line “Bovanenkovo – Sabetta” and the project on development of the seaport of Sabetta, as the governor of the region says.
The Northern Latitudinal Railway supposes creation of the new railroad line with the length in 707 kilometers, this transport corridor will connect the Northern and Sverdlovsk Railways, will enable transportation of cargoes from the new, yet difficult extractive fields of northern areas of the Peninsula and products of Russian enterprises. Last year the agreement was concluded with the company “Russian Railways” on fulfillment of the project. According to the agreement, the region took co-financing of complex bridge structures, including the bridge across the Ob River. In March this year Gazprom became one more partner of “Russian Railways”. An affiliated enterprise of the company plans to build 112 kilometers of the railroad line. It is noteworthy that the entire railroad line will made of Russian materials, and more than 135 thousand tonnes of metal constructions will be necessary only for building of the bridge across the Ob River. Creation of 170 kilometers of the railroad corridor “Bovanenkovo – Sabetta” will become logical continuation of “The Northern Latitudinal Railway”. The railroad line with access to the seaport of Sabetta will greatly increase its load and will provide transportation of export products of Russian companies to new markets in Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region.
