Young people from Yamal are receiving naval training in Kronshtadt

Opening of the regional defense-sports camp-expedition “Young captain” took place in the training center of the Navy of Russia in Kronshtadt.

The project has been successfully fulfilled for the fourth year with support of the regional center of patriotic education and the representational office of Yamal in Saint Petersburg. Thirty winners and prizewinners of the open championship of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug on military-applied kinds of sport “Patriot 2016” from the towns Gubkinskiy, Muravlenko and Purovsky district became the participants of the camp.
The head of representational office Alexander Palagin and the chief of the headquarters – the deputy head of the training center, captain second rank Sergey Plastun welcomed the young people. They invited the participants after finishing of school to continue training in Saint Petersburg and to choose service on the ships “Urengoy” and “Yamal”.
In the beginning of the session the young people from Yamal will immerse into life of the military unit in the training center on education of junior specialists of the Navy in Kronshtadt. Classes on bases of military service and naval training will be conducted for them, as it is informed on the website of the representational office of Yamal in Saint Petersburg. In addition, they will pass the course on use of emergency assets and collective rescue means, on determination of coordinates of training aims, on assessment of a situation in the sea and use of a radiolocation station.
Then the young people will move to the camp in the village of Olgino, where the rich cultural and leisure program is waiting for them. They will get acquainted with Saint Petersburg on a sightseeing tour, will visit the Hermitage Museum, the Central Naval Museum and the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps, an aqua park and a cinema.
The session of the regional defense-sports camp-expedition “Young captain” was organized according to the agreement on cooperation between the government of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the military unit No. 56529-2 – the training center of education of junior specialists of the Navy.
