Salekhard and Rovaniemi. Joint projects of twin towns will be discussed in Finland

The delegation of Yamal is visiting the town Rovaniemi, Finland from the 21st to the 23rd of June.

It includes the chairperson of the town parliament of Salekhard (Duma) Vladimir Martynyuk, the deputy head of the town administration Irina Maksimova, an employee of the regional department of international and external economic relations Sabina Kapshanova. In Finland they plan to discuss the schedule of activities on strengthening of cooperation between Salekhard and Rovaniemi in spheres marked in the memorandum on mutual understanding signed between the towns on the 17th of June of 2014.
It is expected that elaboration and coordination of the plan of activities suggested by the sides will become the result of the visit: joint scientific researches, social projects, development and popularization of ecological tourism, exchange of experience in the sphere of culture and art, youth policy, education and sport. The representatives of Yamal are bringing suggestions to the plan of activities, which will be fulfilled in 2017 and 2018.
Also it is planned to conduct the meeting with the mayor of Rovaniemi, Mr. Esko Lotvonen, to visit the sports and educational complex “Santa sport”, Korundi House of Culture, Arktikum — Museum and Science Centre, Science Centre Pilke and the Santa Claus Village, as the organizer of the trip, the department of international and external economic relations of Yamal informs.
As we should remind, in June of 2014 within the visit of the representatives of Yamal to Rovaniemi, the participants of the meeting discussed basic directions of cooperation of the twin towns. Considering mutual interests in development of all-sided relations in management, economy, education, tourism, science and culture, the representatives of the both sides expressed readiness to mutually profitable cooperation.
