Safety of objects of oil and gas complex was discussed in Noviy Urengoy

The section on security of objects of oil and gas complex of the scientific and technical council of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) took place in Noviy Urengoy.

More than 100 people became its participants, including heads of regional offices of the service, representatives of major gas companies and the delegation from Norway. The program included the visit to production objects to get acquainted with the practical side of activity of local enterprises of Gazprom in difficult climate conditions.
As the head of Rostekhnadzor Aleksey Alyoshin notes, the required level of industrial safety can be achieved only in close cooperation of the governmental regulator, bodies of local authorities, business, scientific and expert community. According to his words, the section on safety of objects of oil and gas complex of the scientific and technical council of Rostekhnadzor is one of platforms for this interaction in oil and gas sector. He underlines that more than five-year practice of conducting of such sittings showed its effectiveness and usefulness. They are popular and attract the wide range of specialists. An opportunity to review and to take decisions on specific production problems on the local level with consideration of opinions and competences of all interested sides is their main advantage.
Aleksey Alyoshin underlines that the place for the event was chosen not by chance, as the press service of Rostekhnadzor informs. The bigger part of Russian gas and gas condensate is extracted in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. At that, severe climate conditions of the Far North and features of the environment impose increased demands on observation of the strictest standards on ecology, industrial safety and labor protection.
As we should remind, the main directions of the section of Rostekhnadzor on safety of oil and gas objects are: development and improvement of the risk-oriented approach in the sphere of industrial safety, quality assessment of expert organizations and system for effective monitoring of state of hazardous production objects. Norm-setting activity is conducted in close cooperation with representatives of oil and gas companies and expert organizations, research institutions and governmental agencies.
