In Nadymskiy district nomadic teachers educate small tundra-dwellers for school

Two nomadic groups of short stay were organized for preschool pupils in Nadymskiy district this year. There are 12 preschool pupils living with parents in tundra.

The children communicate in native language, follow traditions and customs of their people, their parents give them traditional knowledge, teach basic skills necessary for life of indigenous peoples of the North.
During a year in tundra of Nyda two nomadic teachers Yelena Khudi and Nikolay Lapsui teach children, who cannot visit a kindergarten, because their families conduct nomadic way of life. The children are educated on the specially elaborated program, as nadymregion.ru informs. On the stage of education before school the teachers show the children how to compare pictures, to find objects and their differences, how to paint, to draw figures and objects, acquaint them with Nenets and Russian fairy-tales. This education looks like a game with modeling of different situations with help of children’s toys, what supports intellectual curiosity and a wish to learn something new.
Experience of preschool education during the previous years shows that small tundra-dwellers, with who nomadic teachers work, more easily adapt to new conditions of life, entering a boarding school. Besides, they have motivation to education and successful achievements already during the first months of school life.
