The results of the international paleo-ecological expedition in the north of Western Siberia will be presented in Tyumen in the industrial university on the 19th of September.
The director of the institute of geology and oil-gas extraction Aleksey Pimnev will summarize the results of the expedition, which took place in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and will tell about key moments and stages of fulfillment of the arctic project. In the settlement Tolka, Krasnoselkoup district, the scientists studied coastal cliffs with the height from 40 to 50 meters up and down the Taz River. Sections of strata that deposited during past geological epochs are situated there. On these great cliffs the scientists intend “to read” the chronicles of nature, which were written during 500 thousand – 1 million years.
The participants of the strategic project of Tyumen industrial university “Increase in effectiveness of development of the Russian arctic zone” recently have returned from the expedition to the district of the basin of the Taz River. The expedition has international significance; the group includes teachers of higher education institutions from Mexico and Poland, leading institutes of the Russian Federation, professors, students and undergraduates of the basic higher education institution of Tyumen region.
Candidate of biological sciences, a researcher, a teacher of the institute of geology of the National Autonomous University of Mexico Sergey Sedov will touch upon problems of soil formation at the present time and in details will speak on issues of ecology, ecological consequences of human activity. As the teacher notes, these issues are interesting both in scientific and general educational points of view.
