This year “Gazprom Neft” plans to extract about six million tonnes of oil in Novoportovskoye field.
At that, the company increased the forecast on potential of oil production in Novy Port up to 10 million tonnes. The first deputy head of “Gazprom Neft” Vadim Yakovlev said about it on Tyumen oil and gas forum.
This year the company will extract about six million tonnes and will continue to increase production capacity up to ten million tonnes, as he says.
Vadim Yakovlev underlines that in spite of production growth the project remains safe for the environment and for seals living there, as TASS reports.
Earlier he said that “Gazprom Neft” planned to take a decision on increase in the forecast of maximum oil extraction in Novoportovskoye field up to eight million tonnes from 5.5-6 million tonnes. It is planned to achieve this level of extraction by 2020.
Novoportovskoye is one of the largest developed oil, gas, condensate fields in Yamal. Its extractable reserves exceed 250 million tonnes of oil and condensate and 320 milliard cubic meters of gas. The field is located beyond the Polar Circle far away from transport pipeline infrastructure. A new brand of oil is called Novy Port, by its properties it belongs to the category of medium density. At that, it contains smaller amount of sulfur than the Russian brand Urals.
