Development of fields in the Bolshekhetskaya depression in Yamal gives opportunities for growth of extraction of the company “LUKOIL — Western Siberia”. This information was given by the director general of the enterprise Sergey Kochkurov on Tyumen oil and gas forum.
According to him, now in Yamal “LUKOIL – Western Siberia” extracts about two million tonnes of oil per year, seven drilling rigs operate there. Additionally the company conducts seismic surveys and drills new exploration wells, as the agency of oil and gas information reports. However, striving for new subsoils does not mean diminishing of attention to available reserves.
“We understand that there is no easy oil now, therefore, we work actively on those reserves, which are at our disposal. They are huge; therefore, effective use of technologies and scientific elaborations is the main task, as Sergey Kochkurov says.
In his opinion, work on difficult reserves should be a common goal for oil companies and the state.
Difficult reserves are the future. In Russia, of course, it is necessary to work with them. Today new technologies are used, complex wells are constructed, and multi-zone hydraulic fracturing is used. But it is costly, therefore, without the state it would be difficult to move on. Reserves exist; they mean new working places, the amount of extraction for the country in general. “We must work together”, as the director general of “LUKOIL — Western Siberia” says.
