The executive director of the enterprise “Rosmorport” Andrey Lavrischev and the deputy head of “Rosmorrechflot” (Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport) Nadezhda Zhikhareva arrived to the port of Sabetta on their working visit.
They inspected progress of building of ice protection structures, administrative edifices, systems of navigation security and auxiliary structures. In addition, on the conference with the general contractors they discussed issues on building of objects of federal property.
The Minister for transport of Russia Maksim Sokolov noted that in the coming ten years the port of Sabetta would become the largest cargo hub for deliveries in all directions — both to the East and to the West. During winter-spring navigation, from November to June, nuclear–powered icebreakers came 102 times to the port of Sabetta on the contract with the company “Yamal LNG”, 54 times — towards the oil loading terminal in the area of Cape Kamenniy on the contract with “Gazprom Neft”, icebreaking support of six ships was conducted towards Cape Chaika on the contract with “VostokUgol” (VostokCoal). The first Arctic class tanker for transportation of liquefied natural gas “Christophe de Margerie” was in the seaport of Sabetta. It was specifically built for year-round transportation of products on the project “Yamal LNG”.
Work of the seaport of Sabetta also greatly simplifies fulfillment of other major industrial projects in the country. Since the beginning of the summer navigation, since the 11th of July, transit cargoes were delivered for the company “ZapSibNeftekhim” to Tobolsk from ports of Belgium, France, Poland and Germany by six marine ships. The cargoes were transshipped in the port of Sabetta to river barges for delivery on internal water routes to the port of Tobolsk. Use of modern logistic scheme allowed delivering cargoes from the center of Europe into the depth of Western Siberia during the shortest time. In modern conditions there are no alternatives to such way of delivery that economizes time and funds.
