Tourists choose Yamal, Buryatia and Tatarstan for ethnic rest

By the preliminary results of the internet voting of the prize National Geographic Traveler Awards 2017, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is included to the three leaders in the nomination “Russian ethnic rest”. The list includes Buryatia with 32 percent of votes, Tatarstan – 24 percent of votes and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug – with 21 percent of votes. The preliminary results of the internet voting were analyzed by the analytical agency “TourStat”.
In the nomination “Russian adventure rest” the leaders are: Kamchatka — 32 percent, Karelia — 31 and Altai Krai — 29 percent. In the nomination “Russian sightseeing rest” the leaders are: Leningrad Oblast – 42 percent, Moscow and Pskov regions 16 percent each. Khakasiya, Komi Republic and Primorsky Krai with the results 34, 21 and 19 percent are the leaders in the nomination “Russian ecological rest”. Altai Krai, Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Altai with the indexes 27, 25 and 21 percent of the votes are the leaders in the nomination “Russian health-improving rest”.
Among foreign destinations the leaders are: Greece for beach vacation, Cyprus — for family holidays, Italy – for excursions, Austria – for mountain skiing, as 03grb.ru reports. For food tourism and agro-tourism people prefer Georgia, for adventure vacation — Argentina, for health improvement — Israel, for exotic travel – Japan. China is recognized as the opening of the year.
The internet voting of the prize National Geographic Traveler Awards 2017 will last till the 15th of October on the website National Geographic. The best tourist destinations among the most popular kinds of rest in 2017 will be announced by its results.
