A new laboratory of paleo-ecology and monitoring of geo-systems will be opened in Industrial University of Tyumen till the end of this year. In Russia it will be unique also because of equipment, which is planned to set there.
This work is conducted within the strategic project of the program on development of the supporting higher education institution “Increase in effectiveness of development of the Russian Arctic zone”, as the press-service of the university informs. As the head of the project, the director of the Institute of geology and oil-gas extraction Aleksey Pimnev says, for conducting of researches in the new laboratory the specialists from Tyumen elaborated special technology for conducting of geological survey.
As the head of the project notes, installations of a foreign model are big, expensive and not enough effective. The specialists from Tyumen refused the technology being used on them, and numerous experiments show that their own method is safe. In the result, the equipment is becoming more compact, less energy-consuming, and the technology – more effective and cheaper, it gives more accurate indexes and allows coming to creation of a compact field device for the first time.
The project is calculated till 2020. During this time in Tyumen it is planned to create the center for solving of problems on increase in effectiveness of development of the Russian Arctic zone and to elaborate a complex model of development of hard-to-reach arctic territories. Besides, the international paleo-ecological expedition with participation of specialists from Russia, Mexico, Israel and Poland was conducted on the territory of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
