Photographs from Yamal brought the victory to photographers from Moscow

Photographs taken by Dmitry Arkhipov and Svetlana Gorbatykh, photographers from Moscow, won the victory in the contest of the Russian Geographical Society “The most beautiful country 2017”. 23 thousand people and 110 thousand photographs participated in it. 

The photograph “The best friends” by Dmitry Arkhipov was recognized the best in the nomination “Peoples of Russia”. It was taken in the nomadic camp of reindeer herders in Yamal. For the sake of this photograph Dmitry spent several days in tundra.
Another interesting photograph “Yamalskiy Khorovod” (circle dance in Yamal) by Svetlana Gorbatykh won the award. It impressed even those people, who had seen exotic places of the planet. Svetlana rose to the height without any air vehicles, but on foot, she took this picture, standing on the top of the Polar Urals. The photographer has many warm impressions about the Arctic and northerners.

As the traveler says, Nenets people of Yamal are interesting with the fact that they still wear national clothes, at that, both children and grownups. They are wonderful. She received much warmth and cordiality. Very good people live in Yamal, and she would like to come back again.
The authors of the photographs made on the territory of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and other 10 winners in the nominations were awarded with big monetary prizes and the opportunity to go to the expedition of the Russian Geographical Society.
