On the 28th of January the French tanker Gaselys with liquefied natural gas, including from the project “Yamal LNG”, moored to the LNG terminal in Everett near Boston.
A representative of the office of the coast guard in Boston informed TASS that a couple of days the tanker was standing at the roadstead, at a distance from the shore, and then tugboats brought it to the port. The ship dropped the anchor, the coast guard officers came aboard to conduct a standard safety inspection, during which nothing alarming was revealed.
As it was confirmed earlier this year in the headquarters of the French energy company Engie, which owns the ship, and in its American subdivision, Gaselys would go to the port of Everett near Boston. The ship brought a consignment of liquefied natural gas produced also in the plant “Yamal LNG”. First, the Russian liquefied natural gas delivered to the terminal Isle of Grain in the British County of Kent was unloaded into storages and later was re-pumped into the tanker. Experts note that, likely, this fuel was mixed with other similar raw materials, which were stored in the terminal Isle of Grain. From there the tanker Gaselys went to Boston two weeks ago.
