The second wave of development excites pioneers of the first one. Enthusiasm grows

The new social and informational project “Yamal. The second wave of development” was opened in Yamal. It started in the town Labytnangi and will “cover” all towns of Yamal, also Krasnoyarsk Krai and Nenets Autonomous Okrug. 

The project is directed to informing of residents of Yamal about events waiting for the region in the future. It consists of exhibitions and informational events and the grandiose entertainment show with participation of famous singers and collectives of Yamal and Russia. The event is taking place within the Year of social responsibility announced by the governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Kobylkin.
As the vice-governor of Yamal Irina Sokolova tells, she arrived to Yamal in 1984 on assignment. The famous geologist, the discoverer of oil in Siberia Farman Salmanov gave good words to young people in Tyumen before their arrival to Yamal. He told how to work in the North, about its significance for the whole country, that everyone’s work is important. It was very meaningful for her, as Irina Sokolova says.
A big construction site and a lot of sand were her first impressions of the North, because Purovsky district, to where she arrived, had just started its development. The young people were friends. Young, enthusiastic – they fulfilled one work. The feeling of importance of the events charged them with optimism. She wanted to work and be useful to her homeland. Those memories stay with her for all her life, as Irina Sokolova notes.
In her opinion, now the region also develops rapidly and has colossal potential for the future. She is sure that soon people will know about Yamal not only as about the treasury of oil and gas but also about the large industrial center on processing of these natural resources. She believes that all full-scale infrastructural objects laid today will be embodied to life. She lives in Yamal and is proud of it.
As we should remind, 2018 was marked with the significant stage – the startup of the project “Yamal LNG”. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin participated in its opening. Today practically 70 percent of investments to the Russian Arctic are concentrated in Yamal.
The project “Yamal. The second wave of development” will be finished on the 11th of March in Salekhard.
