The social and informational project “Yamal. The second wave of development” was presented in Tazovskiy district.
Inhabitants of the towns Labytnangi, Nadym and Noviy Urengoy already got acquainted to it. And inhabitants of Tazovskiy also “caught the wave” — many guests visited the event. Here there are representatives of indigenous peoples, who did not change their traditions for hundreds of years, and “the guys of the 70th latitude” — geologists – pioneering explorers. Development of underground riches of Yamal was started exactly in Tazovskiy district. The first gas gushed here in 1962; it was the starting point to form the modern image of the arctic region combining ancient culture and modern technology.
According to a researcher of the regional museum of local lore Irina Chuzhayeva, stereotypes exist now, and everyone thinks that there is ruthless development of the North. “We want to show that in fact our district does the best to avoid damage to nature in order ecology would be preserved”, as she said.
A native of the settlement Nakhodka Ompa Yaptunay remembers how it all began, he saw it, as “TV Studio Fact” informs. He managed to live in almost all municipalities of Tazovskiy district and by right is considered to be an old resident. Today Ompa Yaptunay is the head of the district center – the settlement Tazovskiy. And as the leader he is sure that all transformations are the result of collaboration between residents and the power.
“Someone says that nothing has changed. I remember that there were only wooden houses, there were no roads, cars, people walked – a tractor passed, and again there were no sidewalks. And now there are comfortable buses, everything is being improved. Many kindergartens and schools were built and are being built”, as Ompa Yaptunay explains.
Systematic development of settlements and the region in general allowed Yamal to become the industrial center of the whole Russian Arctic. This is just the beginning. Today “the second wave of development” is coming to the region. For example, the plans include further development of the Northern Latitudinal Railway. And the new social and informational project will help to understand what has already been done and where we are going.
As a singer and a composer Igor Kornilov notes, it would be better to pay more attention to Yamal, and people would not think that only oil and gas are extracted here. Ordinary people, who believe in the best, live in Yamal. They love, raise children, start families and build homes. They connect their future and future of generations with life here in spite of severe conditions, as he notes.
A component of the exhibition-presentation dedicated to the outer space is especially popular among young citizens of Tazovskiy district, what is confirmed with the long queue into the planetarium.
The entertainment show is the highlight of the large-scale project. Bright musical performances of stars of Yamal, singers and actors of local amateur-talent groups, communication with old residents of the district and positive emotions — the program became the result of everything presented earlier. The second wave of development is a new round, a new charge, new energy of Yamal. The region has many bright projects and important decisions ahead. In their series it is important not to forget that Yamal has no present without past and no future without present.
