Yamal and “Gazprom Neft” concluded the agreement on gas supply of the settlement Novy Port, Yamalskiy district on the 15th of February in Sochi within work of official delegations on the Russian investment forum.
The document was signed by the head of the arctic region Dmitry Kobylkin and the chairman of the board of the company Alexander Dyukov.
Before the official ceremony of signing of the additional agreement on cooperation the governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the head of “Gazprom Neft” conducted the working meeting, on which they discussed important issues of strategic development of the company on the Yamal peninsula within ecological programs of the region and also participation of the company in social projects of the region.
In particular, the signed additional agreement foresees that “Gazpromneft – Yamal”, a subsidiary of “Gazprom Neft” that develops Novoportovskoye oil, gas, condensate field in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug will build a gas pipeline to the settlement Novy Port. The new gas pipeline with the length 8.7 kilometers and the carrying capacity about 2000 cubic meters per hour will connect an automated gas-distribution station of Novoportovskoye field with a gas-distribution point of one of the most remote populated areas on the Yamal peninsula. 1943 people live in the settlement; more than 1500 of them are representatives of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North.
Input of the gas pipeline to operation is planned for 2022, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs. The following objects are priority for connection: a boiler room, a boarding school, a fish-processing plant, a hospital and a kindergarten. Transfer of the life support system of the settlement from diesel fuel to gas will allow reducing considerably expenditures for producing of electricity and heat.
Increase in quality of life in regions of activity is included to the number of priority tasks of the company. The new agreement with the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug supposes building of the important infrastructural object in the region. Organizing of gas supply in the settlement Novy Port will give a new impulse for development of the territory and also will make life of local population more comfortable, as Alexander Dyukov says.
The governor of Yamal underlines that it is important to make the region comfortable for life and work. Therefore, agreements with fuel and energy companies being signed, first of all, are aimed at achieving this goal. On behalf of people of Yamal, the governor thanked the administration of “Gazprom Neft” and the whole team for understanding of importance of their work within the agreement on cooperation. Social objects, which are built by the company even in the most remote settlements of the region, participation in educational, environmental and infrastructural projects of the region make real contribution to development of Yamal, wellbeing of northerners, as Dmitry Kobylkin says.
The head of the arctic region is sure that relations between the government of the Autonomous Okrug and “Gazprom Neft” will continue being equally effective and useful both for the region and the whole country.
As we should remind, the official delegation of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug being headed by the governor on these days is presenting the arctic region on the Russian investment forum. The program includes participation in the plenary session, the speech of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, working meetings with representatives of the business community, federal structures and regional heads. The business program of the forum includes 57 activities.
As we should note, the company “Gazpromneft-Yamal” (till 2016 — OOO “Gazprom Neft Novy Port”) is a subsidiary of “Gazprom Neft” was created in 2011 specifically for the project on hydrocarbon development in the south of the Yamal Peninsula, including creation of infrastructure on extraction and shipment of hydrocarbons from Novoportovskoye oil, gas condensate field.
This field is one of the largest oil, gas, condensate fields being developed on the Yamal Peninsula. It is located 30 kilometers away from the coast of the Gulf of Ob. Extractable reserves of categories C1 and C2 make more than 250 million tonnes of oil and condensate and also more than 320 milliard cubic meters of gas. Last year 5 million and 500 thousand tonnes of oil were extracted in Novoportovskoye field.
