The first voting papers will be filled in by tundra dwellers

The first helicopter with the precinct election commission on board will fly to tundra of Priuralskiy district on the 25th of February. The prescheduled voting in the election of the President of the Russian Federation in Yamal will be started on this day in 7 remote and hard-to-reach districts. This information was given by the chairman of the Yamal election committee Andrey Gibert.
Traditionally representatives of indigenous peoples – fishermen, reindeer herders – and also employees working on a rotational basis on enterprises with the uninterrupted cycle of work participate in the prescheduled voting.
According to the preliminary data, in total about 35 thousand voters live in hard-to-reach and remote settlements. More than 8500 people will be included to the list of persons of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North, who conduct nomadic lifestyle. In total 35 thousand and 511 voting papers were prepared for the prescheduled voting. All of them are protected against counterfeit with the benday screen and the ballot security mark.
Specialists will come to the voters by helicopters, snowmobiles and reindeer teams. Andrey Gibert plans personally to make sure the election in Sabetta is clean. He plans to go there on the 2nd of March with the filming group of the news agency “Sever-Press”.
