The mobile health center in Nadym conducted medical examination of tundra dwellers

The traditional competitions of reindeer herders for the Cup of the governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug took place in the town Nadym, where tundra dwellers and inhabitants of national villages were able to pass medical examinations. They were able to appeal to “The Mobile Health Center”, which worked right on the square.
During all the time the doors of the mobile diagnostic complex were open for tundra dwellers. Any person was able to learn basic indexes of work of cardiovascular, respiratory and other systems of his or her organism, including cholesterol and blood sugar levels, and also to receive consultations of doctors.
The social and preventive action “Be healthy, tundra-dweller” has been conducted by specialists of the Yamal center for medical prevention in the town Nadym for the ninth year. At that, popularity of “the bus of health” grows every year, as the head physician of the regional center for medical prevention Sergey Tokarev informs. This year many reindeer herders came purposefully with their families, knowing well what medical services would be rendered, and for what aim they were necessary.
Employees of the regional center for prevention and struggle against AIDS from the town Noyabrsk, specialists of the central hospital of Nadymskiy district and volunteers – students of the medical class of school N9 of the town Nadym worked together with the employees of the health center on the square.
During 2 days the medical employees examined and consulted about 100 people. By the results of the examination, each patient received “The health card” and informational materials with recommendations, some of them were specially published for indigenous northerners in Nenets language. Children received presents – souvenirs and toys. The little tundra dwellers pleased the medical workers with singing national songs. The information was given in the office on coordination of preventive work, interdepartmental and public relations of “The center for medical prevention”.
