On the 14th of March in Salekhard the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the oil company “LUKOIL” signed the additional agreement on fulfillment in 2018 of the cooperation agreement concluded for 2017 — 2019.
The document was signed by the governor of Yamal Dmitry Kobylkin and the president of JSC “LUKOIL” Vagit Alekperov.
The agreement establishes cooperation on a wide range of activities: tax obligations and joint scientific, cultural, sports and charitable projects. For example, thanks to donations from LUKOIL to the charitable foundation “Yamine”, a large number of children from Yamal receive expensive medical treatment and rehabilitation, including abroad. Construction of a universal sports complex with a swimming pool will be continued in the settlement Tazovskiy with support of LUKOIL. The company will also help the foundation “Assistance to development of Shuryshkarskiy district” in purchasing and installing of a modular building for placement of the procurement complex in the village of Pitlyar, the regional public organization “The center for development of civil initiatives” in fulfillment of the environmental volunteer project “The future of the Arctic”.
LUKOIL will continue its active participation in development of light and ultra-light aviation in the region and sports disciplines: judo, hockey and volleyball. The additional agreement envisages financing of programs of the regional innovation and investment foundation “Yamal”, the all-Russian public organization “The Russian Association of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East”, the foundation “Cooperation of Yamal”, the Association “The council of municipalities of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug” and the nonprofit organization “Union of veterans of Yamal”.
The head of the region thanked Vagit Alekperov and the collective of the company for socially responsible business, concrete and real work on the territory of Yamal. He notes that the president of LUKOIL is one of a few leaders, whose participation in life of the country and Yamal is boundless.
Vagit Alekperov calls the system of work through the agreement the best form of relations between the region’s government and the heads of large economic subjects, explaining that the regional administration understands the needs of the population better.
He is sure that both past and future agreements will be fulfilled on 100 percent from both sides — the company and the region. All the previous agreements were completely fulfilled, as the president of the company says.
He thanked the head of the region for constructive relations, flexibility and efficiency in taking decisions that touch upon not only production activities but also social work. As we should note, a year ago, signing the agreement, Dmitry Kobylkin underlined that the government and the company shared the same goals and understanding of the necessity to maintain the balance between industrial development and careful attitude to the Arctic.
