“Gazprom Neft” and IBM agreed to expand cooperation in new technological projects on oil production at development of extractive fields on land.
Work on methodology of introduction of the digital laboratory in “Gazprom Neft” can become one of possible directions. New technologies will be tested on its basis to increase efficiency of geological prospecting and drilling (software products based on artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, Big Data, industrial internet of things, etc.).
According to the first deputy director general of “Gazprom Neft” Vadim Yakovlev, the company is aimed at leadership in industrial digitalization. Specialists of the company together with IBM will expand the accumulated experience of introduction of breakthrough IT-developments in geology and drilling. Use of artificial intelligence for analysis of big data proved the opportunity to increase economic efficiency of the company’s projects through taking quick and optimal decisions.
Specialists of “Gazprom Neft” and IBM have already developed the joint program for digital control over processes of oil production at development of extractive fields on land. On the stage of fulfillment there are several projects in the sphere of automated analysis of geo-information system, study of geology and prediction of complications in process of drilling. Also the companies are developing partnership within the center for management of projects of “Gazprom Neft” purposed to maximize accuracy of prediction results and to reduce time of fulfillment of major projects, as the press-service of “Gazprom Neft” informs.
In 2018, within the St. Petersburg international economic forum, “Gazprom Neft” and IBM Corporation signed the addition to the Memorandum on strategic cooperation in the sphere of digital technologies. The document is intended to consolidate plans on long-term cooperation of the companies and to extend successful experience of the previous agreements signed within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2015-2017.
