Russia will allocate a lot of money to scientific researches in the Arctic

It is planned to increase funding for scientific researches in regions of the Arctic and the Antarctic in 2019-2021 on more than 1 milliard rubles. The corresponding amount is included in the project of budget for the three-year period. This was announced by the deputy minister of science and higher education Sergey Kuzmin at the general meeting of heads of higher education institutions and scientific research institutes in St. Petersburg.
“Expedition activity grows, including in regions of the Arctic and the Antarctic, additional funds are allocated for the three-year period — more than one milliard rubles”, Sergey Kuzmin said.
According to the data given in the presentation of the deputy minister, growth of expenditures for conducting of scientific researches in the Arctic will make 1 milliard 50 million rubles for three years, as TASS reports. It is also planned to increase funding for maintenance of the scientific fleet of the country — about 1 milliard 140 million rubles for three years.
