The championship of Russia on billiard sports took place in Saint Petersburg. Artyom Istomin from Noviy Urengoy became the three-time Russian snooker champion. The nine-year-old sportsman won the victory over 16-year-old opponents.
Artyom has participated in competitions since the age of five. At the age of seven he became a candidate master of sports, having taken the fifth place in the Russian championship. The boy’s mother Tatiana Istomina is his coach. She is the champion of Russia in snooker, the absolute champion of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug on the Russian Billiards, professionally is engaged in swimming and judo, as the informational and analytical board of the administration of Noviy Urengoy informs.
One more pupil of Tatyana Istomina — Ilkin Isayev, who plays Billiards during only a year, also participated in the competitions and showed excellent results.
About 40 sportspeople from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Penza region, Perm region, Ulyanovsk region, Tyumen region, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug participated in the championship of Russia.
