The icebreaking supply vessel of the project IBSV01 “Andrey Vilkitsky” went to sea trials in the Baltic Sea. It was built on Vyborg Shipyard on the order of “Gazprom Neft”. Compliance of actual parameters and capacities of the vessel with the design characteristics, reliability of equipment and ship systems will be checked during the tests.
The icebreaking supply vessel “Andrey Vilkitsky” became the second in the series, the lead vessel for this project “Alexander Sannikov” was delivered to the customer on the 29th of June this year, as the press service of the Vyborg Shipyard informs. The vessel is purposed for operation at the Arctic terminal of Novoportovskoye field located in the west of the Gulf of Ob. Its main purpose is in icebreaking support of tankers, assistance in mooring and loading operations, rescue operations, towing of ships, fire fighting, participation in operations on liquidation of oil spills. The vessel was built under technical supervision of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping for the class Icebreaker8.
