A subsidiary of NOVATEK “Novatek Gas & Power Asia Pte. Ltd.” delivered a consignment of liquefied natural gas from the project “Yamal LNG” to the Chinese company China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).
An Arc7 ice-class tanker delivered LNG on the Northern Sea Route eastward to the Fujian regasification terminal in China in 20 days. At that, the ship passed the segment on the Northern Sea Route during 7.5 days. The information is given to the news agency “Sever-Press” in the press service of NOVATEK.
“We are expanding our customer base in China through the first delivery to CNOOC. It is also our first delivery in the eastern direction of the Northern Sea Route in November, at the end of the navigation period. The consignment of LNG was delivered without icebreaking support, during short time and with good commercial speed, what confirms effectiveness of our logistics model, which allows fulfilling competitive deliveries to the key LNG markets of the Asia-Pacific region”, Leonid Mikhelson, the Chairman of the Board of NOVATEK said.
NOVATEK is one of the largest independent natural gas producers in Russia. In 2017 the company entered the international gas market due to the successful startup of the project “Yamal LNG”. Extractive fields and license areas of NOVATEK are located mainly in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
