15 million tonnes of oil have been extracted in Novoportovskoye field – the flagman asset of “Gazprom Neft” in the Arctic – since the beginning of its fulfillment. The 500th mooring operation of a tanker to the terminal “Vorota Arktiki” took place for offloading of hydrocarbons. “Shturman Skuratov” took the jubilee cargo consignment.
During a year ships of the series “Shturman” fulfill more than 200 trips from the oil terminal to Murmansk, the bigger part of shipments is fulfilled in difficult ice conditions. The subsidiary of “Gazprom Neft” – “Gazpromneft-Yamal” increases extraction. Last year 5 million and 900 thousand tonnes were extracted in Novoportovskoye field. More than 7 million tonnes of raw materials is the expected result of this year. The peak extraction of oil in the arctic field is forecasted in 2020 – more than 8 million tonnes, as it is informed in the press service of the company “Gazprom Neft”. In connection with development of the Northern Sea Route geography of deliveries of Novy port oil brand during several latest years was extended up to 9 countries, among which there is Great Britain, France, Norway and the Netherlands.
In 2018 the average daily extraction of the project “Novy Port” reached 19 thousand and 600 tonnes of oil. The enterprise develops the field with use of methods of high-tech drilling. 221 exploitation wells operates in the field, 24 of them are multilateral. Drilling of horizontal, bilateral wells, multistage hydraulic fracturing, proactive geosteering and other modern technologies are used to increase effectiveness.
Fulfillment of the project on development of the northern part of Novoportovskoye license area was started in 2016. Here the extractable reserves of the project on categories C1 and C2 make more than 26 million 800 thousand tonnes of oil and 27 milliard cubic meters of gas. 185 oil wells on 10 cluster sites will be drilled on the area in the prospect. The peak extraction is being expected in 2022. In the coming 5 years “Gazprom Neft” plans to allocate 400 milliard rubles for development of Novoportovskoye field and adjoining projects.
“The terminal “Vorota Arktiki” is strategically important both for development of the Northern Sea Route and for development of fields of the Yamal Peninsula. The icebreaker “Alexander Sannikov” went on duty on water areas of the Gulf of Ob. It provides safe offloading of arctic oil. Six tankers of Arc7 class are used. They were designed and built specifically according to the order of “Gazprom Neft”.
It opens prospects for development of the Yamal peninsula, where more than 20 oil and gas fields have been discovered by the present time. The logistic scheme that we built allows delivering raw materials to consumers by sea the whole year round”, as the director general of “Gazpromneft Yamal” Aleksey Ovechkin said.
Novoportovskoye field is one of the largest oil, gas, condensate fields being developed on the Yamal Peninsula. It is located behind the Polar Circle far from transport pipeline infrastructure. The extractable reserves make more than 250 million tonnes of oil and condensate and more than 320 milliard cubic meters of gas. Oil from Novoportovskoye field of the brand Novy Port by its properties belongs to the category of light with low sulfur content – about 0.1%.
