Dmitry Artyukhov participated in the extended sitting of the Presidium of the State Council

The governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov participated in the extended sitting of the Presidium of the State Council being chaired by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The sitting took place in the Yalta hotel complex “Mriya” in the format of a casual meeting. During the informal dialogue the participants discussed the tasks standing before regions and defined in the presidential decree on national goals and strategic objectives of the country’s development for the period up to 2024.
The sitting was divided into seven working groups (seven roundtables). The main areas of discussion were the following: demography, healthcare, science, education, housing and urban environment, culture, digital economy, infrastructure. Special attention was paid to ecology.
“There is a row of concrete positive examples and achievements in the sphere of ecology in Yamal. One of them is in so that traditional economy of indigenous peoples of the North is combined successfully with work of large enterprises. Gas and oil production takes place without disturbing of lifestyle of nomads: Nenets and Khanty peoples. The North requires a serious approach. We involve not only Russian, but also foreign scientific experts in development and implementation of our own environmental projects. At that, we actively cooperate with business representatives. The fish-breeding plant in the settlement Kharp in Yamal is an example of how entrepreneurs meet halfway with the scientific community and work together with scientists to preserve ecological balance in the Arctic”, as Dmitry Artyukhov said within the dialogue.
In addition, the governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug told the participants of the sitting about major volunteer projects in the region: about cleaning of the arctic islands Beliy and Vilkitsky and about future cleaning in the district of the settlement Kharasavey. By the results of the discussion the representatives of the executive and legislative authorities took important decisions in all areas outlined within the sitting of the Presidium of the State Council. In particular, a row of actions on work with issues of urban planning policy, public procurement and land legislation was developed.
