The icebreaking vessel “Andrey Vilkitsky” will be input to operation on the 15th of December

On the 15th of December Vyborg Shipyard is planning to input the icebreaking vessel “Andrey Vilkitsky” to operation. In the series it is the second icebreaking supply vessel with the capacity 22 megawatt of class Icebreaker 8 of the project IBSV01. This information was given to journalists by the CEO of the shipyard Alexander Solovyov.
The icebreaker supply vessel “Andrey Vilkitsky” is designed to operate at the arctic terminal of Novoportovskoye field located in the west of the Gulf of Ob. It will be busy with icebreaking support of tankers, assist in mooring and loading operations, rescue operations, towing of ships and fire fighting. According to the earlier information, the vessel “Andrey Vilkitsky” built by order of “Gazprom Neft” went to sea trials in the Baltic Sea on the 10th of November, as IAA “PortNews” reports.
As we should remind, the lead vessel for this project “Alexander Sannikov” was delivered to the customer on the 29th of June this year.
