Dmitry Medvedev and Dmitry Artyukhov discussed large infrastructural projects of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug

In the course of the working trip to Sabetta dedicated to the launch of the third line of the plant “Yamal LNG” Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev and the governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov conducted the bilateral meeting. Within the official conversation the sides touched upon topics of socioeconomic development of the arctic region and also fulfillment of full-scale infrastructural and investment projects on the territory of the region, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs.
“The project “Yamal LNG”, which seemed incredible just a while ago, reached the amounts, for which it had been designed. It is a big event for the country and a step in development of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. By the way, recently you had several large launches. Nevertheless, let us speak about the projects, which are being fulfilled”, Dmitry Medvedev underlined.
According to the head of the arctic region, historic events are taking place in the region now. A week ago the third gas production facility of Bovanenkovo field was launched before the startup of the third line of “Yamal LNG”; the capacity is huge, 115 milliard cubic meters of gas per year. According to Dmitry Artyukhov, Yamal will continue fulfilling its main mission on providing of energy security of Russia.
“The region has huge energy resources, the means that provide a considerable part of income on all levels of the budget”, as Dmitry Artyukhov noted. He adds that the most important task of the regional government is to assist to development of modern economical and social infrastructure.
“Our meeting with You took place in July, and in a week after it, very quickly, the decision on concession was taken, the decree of the Government about the start of the Northern Latitudinal Railway was issued. In autumn the concession operator signed all the documents officially, and now we are in the active phase of designing. We are doing the best in order already this winter to start building of the most complicated object – the bridge across the Ob River. Of course, development of infrastructure is the basis for commissioning of objects in proper time”, Artyukhov said.
Key infrastructural objects being fulfilled on the territory of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug were also discussed within the conference with members of the State Commission on Arctic Development. Federal ministers, representatives of the companies “NOVATEK”, “Russian Railways”, heads of subjects of the circumpolar region and experts of different specialized spheres participated in the sitting. The agenda included topics connected with development of innovative technologies of hydrocarbon extraction, creation of shelf infrastructure and advancement on new, hard-to-reach territories. Separately, the participants considered tasks, fulfillment of which was necessary to increase cargo traffic on the Northern Sea Route.
