Gravity based structures will be built for “Arctic LNG 2”

The subsidiary of NOVATEK “Arctic LNG 2” signed the contract on designing and manufacturing of gravity based structures. The company SAREN will fulfill the work. It is a joint venture of the company Renaissance Heavy Industries Russia (RHI Russia B.V.) and Italian SAIPEM S.p.A. The contract foresees designing and manufacturing of three gravity based structures in order to set technological lines on liquefying of natural gas on them, as the press service of NOVATEK informs.
The amount of work on the contract includes management, design, delivery of materials and equipment, creation of three gravity based structures at the plant “NOVATEK-Murmansk” and also commissioning and preparing for sea operations, including towing and installing of the gravity based structures.
“Signing of the contract is an important step on creation of the Russia’s first LNG production on gravity based structures with use of our unique center for building of large tonnage sea structures in Murmansk Oblast”, as the chairman of the board of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson noted. — “Big experience of our partners in designing and building of sea structures will assist to successful launch of the new project “Arctic LNG 2”.
As we should remind, the project “Arctic LNG 2” foresees building of three stages on production of liquefied natural gas with the capacity 6 million 600 thousand tonnes per year each on gravity based structures. The project is being fulfilled on resource base of Utrenneye field in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
