According to the information given to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” in the regional department of international and external economic relations, during the visit the participants will sign the external economic contract on delivery of reindeer hides between the municipal enterprise “Meat-processing complex “Payuta” and the Finnish company “Lapin Nahka Oy”.
The specialized department reminds that reindeer meat has been exported to Finland since 2010. Then 210 tonnes of venison were sent as a test consignment, and by 2018 amounts of deliveries grew more than twice. During eight years in total about 3 thousand tonnes of organic reindeer meat were delivered to Finland.
It should be noted that friendly relations between the capital of Yamal and the center of Lapland Rovaniemi were established in 2014. Then the Memorandum of understanding was signed officially. The towns are twinned. In today’s geopolitical conditions the partnership of the towns is very important. In addition to the geographical location on the Polar Circle, both towns are administrative centers of remote northern areas, what leads to necessity to solve similar objectives and tasks. The number of inhabitants of the twin towns makes approximately the equal figure.
