In Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra it is planned to create a laboratory to study genes “Health of a woman and a child in conditions of the Far North and the Arctic”. This information was given by the head of the region Natalia Komarova at the panel discussion of Gaidar Forum “85 projections of the national healthcare project”.
“I am grateful to you for the decision to place laboratories and research platforms in our region on the issue related to study of the genome of human, including people living on the arctic and subarctic territory”, she said, addressing to the Minister of health of the Russian Federation Veronika Skvortsova.
It is planned to fulfill the project on creation of the Center of high biomedical technologies and the laboratory “Health of a woman and a child in conditions of the Far North and the Arctic” in its structure within the national project “Health” till 2024, as TASS reports. It will be busy with promising genomic research, including study of the genome of inhabitants of arctic and subarctic territories, identification of interconnection between genomic disorders and risks of various diseases through transfer from modern medicine to medicine of the future. Creation of genetic passports of indigenous peoples in the future will allow introducing personified approaches to therapy of various diseases of northerners.
