Yamal takes leading positions in Russia on economic indexes

Yamal is the leader among Russian regions on economic indexes. Rosstat (The Federal State Statistic Service of the Russian Federation) clarified the data of socioeconomic development of Russian regions for 2018.
In 2018 industrial production index of Yamal reached the growth record for the latest decade — 117%; it is on 14.1 percentage points higher than the all-Russian value. According to this index, Yamal keeps leading positions among regions of Ural Federal Okrug. In Tyumen Oblast it is 110.1%, Sverdlovsk – 109%, Kurgan – 102%, Chelyabinsk – 100.1%, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – 100%.
The growth of industrial production was provided with extraction of minerals, the launch of the second and the third stages of the plant “Yamal LNG” and the beginning of shipment of liquefied natural gas from Yamal. In 2018 the amount of building operations in the region 3.3 times increased, as the press service of the head of Yamal informs.
At the end of the year unemployment made 2.1%; it is one of the lowest rates in the country. In Yugra it is 2.5%, in Tyumen Oblast – 4.5%.
Yamal rose from the 3rd to the 2nd place among regions of Ural Federal Okrug in growth of the retail trade turnover at comparable prices and continues taking leading positions in growth of paid services provided to population. In 2018 residents of Yamal changed the savings model of behavior to the consumer one. Rosstat registered growth in the retail trade turnover by 5.2%, the amount of paid services increased by 6%.
