Commercial whitefish farming in Ural Region and Western Siberia will be discussed in Tyumen

The scientific and practical conference “Aquaculture of the Trans-Urals and Siberia” will take place in Tyumen from the 4th to the 6th of March. The forum will allow extending the circle of specialists and experts participating in discussions on problems, ways of development and achievements of Russia aquaculture, will help better to consider features of fish farming in branch programs in different regions.
Representatives of the executive and legislative power, heads of branch unions, research centers, fish farms, enterprises on processing and retail trade and also other interested specialists of Ural Federal Okrug and Siberian Federal Okrug are invited to participation.
According to the information given to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” by the organizers of the forum, with consideration of the regional character of the activity the accent in the business program will be focused on issues of selection, reproduction and trade breeding of those species of fish, which are characteristic for fish-farming enterprises of the Trans-Urals and Siberia. They include growing of whitefish in industrial conditions, prospects of commercial whitefish farming in Ural region and in Western Siberia, features of trout farming of the Trans-Urals and Siberia and breeding of cyprinoid fishes.
As we should remind, “the roadmap” on development of aquaculture till 2025 functions in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Sobsky fish-farming plant is called to become the center for competences on development of aquaculture in the region. The center for collecting of fish eggs appeared on the Sob River. It allows decreasing dependence on stocking material being purchased in other regions. One more fish-farming plant is at the stage of designing in the region – in the settlement Tazovskiy. In addition, Rosmorport regularly conducts operations on compensation of damage done to water biological resources. For the second year in a row the Yamal seaport of Sabetta has confirmed the title of the all-Russian leader on compensatory measures of reproduction of water biological resources. Last year 183 million 400 thousand fingerlings of the pelyad were released to its water areas.
With consideration of the amount of juvenile fish released to adjoining water area a year before almost 400 million fingerlings of the pelyad and 2 million 600 thousand fingerlings of the Siberian sturgeon were released for the total sum more than 922 million rubles.
