The capacity of the third LNG plant of NOVATEK will make 5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas per year. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the company, the Director on LNG Yevgeniy Kot.
This January the head of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson said that the company would take an investment decision on construction of the third LNG plant in 2020-2021. He added that the plant would be built on the company’s own gas liquefaction technology – “Arctic Cascade” and would include two or three lines, as the oil and gas information agency reports.
In April he said that NOVATEK could launch the first line of its third LNG plant already the next year after the full launch of the second project – “Arctic LNG 2” (19 million 800 thousand tonnes).
The first project of NOVATEK on liquefying of natural gas “Yamal LNG” is fulfilled on the basis of the South Tambey field. Three production lines with the total capacity of 16 million 500 thousand tonnes were built, and the additional fourth line with the capacity almost 1 million tonnes is being built within it.
