The company “Messoyakhaneftegaz” delivered a new electrical dehydrator for deep dehydration and desalination of high-viscous arctic oil to the East-Messoyakhskoye field (the Gydan Peninsula, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug). It has become one of the heaviest and oversized cargoes brought to the field since the beginning of commercial operation. In total more than 1 million 100 thousand tonnes of material and technical resources were delivered here as part of the winter delivery within development of the autonomic extractive field.
The electric dehydrator weighing more than 50 tonnes, equipped with a three-row system of electrodes and a high-voltage power source was delivered to the northernmost oil, gas, condensate field of Russia by specialized vehicles designed for transportation of oversized cargoes in the northern off-road conditions.
According to the information given to the news agency “Sever-Press” in the company “Messoyakhaneftegaz”, the unit was on the way during two weeks, in total it covered the distance 3500 kilometers. The 140-kilometer winter road from the settlement Tazovskiy to the East-Messoyakhskoye field was the most difficult part of this route — the extractive field is situated in the autonomy, far from transport and engineering infrastructure. The temporary road through tundra consists of several ice crossings, sharp ascents and descents, and the height of the differences on some areas makes 25 meters. The speed of the vehicle carrying the oversized multi-tonne cargo on these segments did not exceed 10 km/h. Safety of this non-standard cargo transportation was provided by specialists of “Gazpromneft-Snabzhenie”, who accompanied the electric dehydrator along the entire route.
The electric dehydrator delivered to the field will become the third device for preparation of growing amounts of liquid hydrocarbon raw materials in the East Messoyakha field. One dehydration and desalination unit is able to prepare 7 thousand tonnes of oil of commercial quality per day. The new equipment will be input to operation within the second stage of the Central Gathering Plant at the end of 2019.
Viktor Sorokin, the director general of “Messoyakhaneftegaz”, said: “Efficiency of work of the polar field largely depends on results of the winter delivery, which lasts in the Arctic from December to May. The East Messoyakha is situated in the autonomy, and the winter road is the only terrestrial artery, along which we can bring large amounts of material and technical resources, high-tech and oversized equipment. During development of the field we delivered more than 1 million 100 thousand tonnes of cargoes along the winter road. Success of these deliveries is a guarantee of continuity and efficiency of the entire production cycle of the asset”.
The Messoyakha group of extractive fields includes the East Messoyakha and West Messoyakha areas located on the Gydan Peninsula of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The East-Messoyakhskoye field is the northernmost continental field in Russia, where industrial production is fulfilled. According to the proven hydrocarbon reserves, it is referred to unique ones. The project is fulfilled in conditions of limited access to transport and industrial infrastructure. Licenses for both blocks belong to “Messoyakhaneftegaz”, which is controlled by “Gazprom Neft” and “Rosneft” on the parity basis. “Gazprom Neft” performs functions of the project operator. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin launched operations of the East Messoyakha field on the 21st of September in 2016 in the mode of the teleconference. In 2018 the annual production in the East Messoyakha field made 4 million 500 thousand tonnes of oil.
