The folkloric Khanty collective from Shuryshkarskiy district “Shchanya Yokh” was awarded with the diploma of the second degree for participation in the All-Russian festival-contest of amateur creative collectives of Volga and Ural federal regions in the nomination “Traditional culture”.
The event took place within the national project “Culture” in Saratov Oblast from the 16th to the 19th of May. In total, 60 collectives of Volga Federal Okrug and Ural Federal Okrug with the total number more than 900 people participated in the festival-contest.
The folkloric collective “Shchanya Yokh” celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, as it is informed on the website of the administration of Shuryshkarskiy district. In the translation from Khanty language the name of the collective means “The people of the Synya River”. The ensemble was organized in December of 1993 by the methodologist of the Central club system Nadezhda Longortova — the keeper of traditions, customs and ceremonies of Khanty people. Now Galina Artanzeyeva is the artistic director of the ensemble. The repertoire of the people of the Synya River is rich and diverse: songs, comic and domestic sketches, monologues, satires and fairy tales. For active cultural and educational work the collective was awarded with numerous certificates and diplomas.
