A teacher from Yamal tells how native languages of indigenous northerners are preserved

Anastasia Tasmanova, a teacher of foreign languages at the school named after Arkhangelskiy in the settlement Muzhi, is participating in the XVII International Conference on Minority Languages in Leeuwarden (Netherlands). She is presenting the report “On the best practices aimed at popularizing the study of native languages of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North being implemented in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug”.
The conference includes lectures on multilingualism in the world and its role in various educational systems, daily life and social media. Special attention is being paid to languages of national minorities, as well as their popularization. The information was given to the news agency “Sever-Press” in the press-service of the governor of Yamal.
As it should be noted, Anastasia Tasmanova is not only a young teacher but also a social activist. Within the youth branch of the Association “Yamal is for descendants!” in Shuryshkarskiy district she has repeatedly become a participant in various projects being implemented by the public regional movement.
