Within Tyumen oil and gas forum the head of the Industrial University of Tyumen Veronika Yefremova and associate professor of the Graduate School of Management and Economics at Sharif University of Technology (Tehran, Iran) Mehran Sepehri signed the Memorandum of understanding.
“Today the Industrial University of Tyumen takes the obligation on fulfillment of all national projects and knows exactly what will be an engineer of the future. This is the engineer, who is capable to design our urban environment, to provide our industrial partners with technological breakthroughs. We shall forget what import substitution is as a concept thanks to science of our University. We are entering the international level and signing the agreement with Tehran University of Technology — the first University of the Islamic Republic”, the acting rector of the Industrial University of Tyumen Veronika Yefremova said before signing the Memorandum.
According to Mehran Sepehri, the universities are suitable for each other, their structures are similar and there are similar technical areas.
As he says, Sharif University is extremely interested to extend international contacts. It is important for its employees to establish partnership relations, including with Russian universities. For them Russia is a partner country, and the Memorandum with the Industrial University of Tyumen opens new horizons and opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Iranian scientist told a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” that exchange of students would take place under the agreement, and it would be very interesting for Iranian youth to see winter, snow, to feel the cold.
Mehran Sepehri says that they are also interested in projects of the Industrial University of Tyumen related to the Arctic. For them it is exotic, something from the field of fantasy, polar bears, snow, frost, and Russian people work there, extract oil and gas. Russia is the long-term partner, and the Iranian side associates long-term projects with this agreement.
According to the document, exchange of teachers, scientists and students, short-term academic internships within international exchange programs or study abroad will become the key kinds of cooperation. The talk is also about development of joint educational programs, joint research projects, participation of the two universities in organizing of lectures, seminars and symposia, as well as exchange of academic information and materials.
