On the 3rd of December the cultural and leisure center “Naslediye” (Legacy) will open the photo exhibition “Yamal. Traditions. Skills” dedicated to the birthday of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The creative Yadne family is the author of the exhibition.
The head of the family, an artist on bone and wood carving Victor Yadne represents the generation of artists brought up on the synthesis of European and Nenets traditions of the modern school of northern decorative and applied art. In his works Victor uses various local materials — a mammoth tusk, a walrus tusk, an elk antler and a deer antler, which are used in traditional items of Nenets people.
Their ethnographic authenticity, which vividly shows the rich information content revealing everyday life of a reindeer herder, a fisherman and a hunter, is a remarkable feature of his art-works.
Creativity of the craftsman from Yamal is represented in funds of the regional house of crafts and the museum and exhibition complex named after Shemanovskiy, and he is included to the number of craftspeople forming the golden fund of Yamal art. Victor is a regular participant of all-Russian and international exhibitions.
Inna Yadne is a craftswoman of artistic bone carving and has been working in creative tandem with her husband Victor for many years. In addition to artistic processing of bone, Inna mastered the technique of making of traditional ethnic clothes. She is a participant of town, regional, interregional, all-Russian and international exhibitions of decorative and applied art. She was repeatedly awarded with diplomas and letters of gratitude.
Creative works by Inna Yadne are in private collections of famous figures of culture, politics of Yamal, Russia, as well as abroad. Many of them were made together with Victor Yadne.
